Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things about your visit, such as the choices you have made, and they help us understand how the site is being used.
We use cookies for three purposes only. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell the information they collect.
These make the site work and keep it secure. They record your cookie choices so that you are not asked again on every page, and they help our hosting keep the site available and protected. They cannot be switched off.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our site, which pages are useful and where people run into problems. This tells us how many people visit and which content is worth improving. These cookies are only set if you accept them.
| Cookie | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | 2 years | Distinguishes one visitor from another |
| _ga_ followed by a property code | 2 years | Keeps track of a single browsing session |
| _gid | 24 hours | Distinguishes visitors within a day |
Browsers now cap how long these cookies actually survive, so in practice they are usually deleted sooner than the durations above.
Our contact forms use Google reCAPTCHA to tell real enquiries apart from automated spam. It sets a cookie called _GRECAPTCHA, which lasts about six months, and it may collect information about your device and how you interact with the page in order to work out whether you are a person. Without it our enquiry forms would be unusable.
You can change which cookies you accept at any time using the cookie settings on this site.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Every browser handles this differently, so check your browser’s help pages. Blocking necessary cookies will stop parts of this site working properly. Blocking analytics or spam prevention cookies will not affect your ability to browse the site, although our enquiry forms may not work without reCAPTCHA.
Google sets the analytics and reCAPTCHA cookies described above, and processes the information they collect on its own terms as well as ours. Google’s privacy policy explains what it does with that information.
Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and what rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act.
If you have any questions about how we use cookies, email us at info@stayput.co.za or phone 011 421 9300.
